Performing Arts

Faculty Aims:

The Performing Arts faculty is dedicated to offering students every opportunity to develop their abilities and potential. The performing arts play an important role in the social, cultural, aesthetic and spiritual lives of people. At an individual level, music, dance and drama are mediums of personal expression. They enable the sharing of ideas, feelings and experiences.
Our goal is to provide every opportunity to allow students to explore and foster their own talent and to express themselves in a caring environment where their effort and input are highly valued. 

Courses Offered:

 
Stage 4 – Years 7 and 8 Mandatory Music
Year 8 Elective Music, Dance and Drama
 Stage 5 – Years 9 and 10 Elective Music, Dance and Drama
Stage 6 – HSC Music, HSC Drama, HSC Dance and VET Entertainment Industry

Faculty Extra Curricula / Extension:

Along with the subjects listed above the Performing Arts faculty deliver a Gifted and Talented course in the areas of Music, Dance and Drama. This program involves an audition process to become enrolled. Students are exposed to a variety of opportunities to extend their skills which include after-school performance groups, workshop excursions and extended learning activities within the classroom. Significant Successes in 2014-15
In all disciplines (Music, Dance, Drama, Entertainment Industry) students have achieved band 6 results in HSC. 
Music and Dance students performed in the NSW Public Schools Spectacular.
Extra curricular rock band competing at the ‘Bring it on’ festival and the ‘Youth Rock’ band competition. 
Students have performed in the NSW Public schools Dance and Drama festival at both regional and state level.
